Hello!

About Me

I am a PhD Candidate in Astronomy & Astrophysics at the University of California, San Diego. As an observational astronomer I use both ground and space-based instruments to study brown dwarfs, which are substellar objects that sit between planets and stars in mass. My research centers around growing our understanding of ancient metal poor brown dwarfs, using spectroscopy to examine their physical and atmospheric properties. I am also investigating machine learning techniques as a means to improve the efficiency of modeling large samples of these objects.

As a member of the inaugural Astrophysics PhD Program here at UCSD I, alongside my cohorts, strive to create a collaborative and supportive environment for current and future graduate students in the department. I lead the A&A Journal Club and am a part of my department's EDI affinity group JEDI.

In my spare time you can find me spending time with my dog (and co-author) Lilly, starting and then forgetting about craft projects, or trying new food spots around SD with friends.
